Former Chairman, Board of Directors receives accolades for his contributions!

“CARDI now has the challenge to move into a new era (a new dispensation) when it has to change its mode of operation to meet the special requirements brought about by globalisation and a new World Economic Order, and even more recently the effects of Climate Change,” stated the former Chairman of CARDI’s Board of Directors, Dr Keith Archibald at a farewell reception held on November 13, hosted by the Management and Staff of CARDI in honour of his services to the Institute, in particular as Chairman of the Board of Directors from 2000 to 2007.

In his farewell address to the CARDI Family, Dr Archibald explained, “to meet this challenge CARDI is being renewed – it has a new Chairman of the Board of Governors, it has a new Chairman of the Board of Directors and it has a new Executive Director, and I anticipate that very shortly a Deputy Executive Director will be appointed so that the new Executive Director can spread his wings and take the Institute to a higher level.”

Dr Archibald has served the Institute with distinction, commitment and dedication from 2000 to 2007.

The whole CARDI Family including the Chairman of the Board, Hon Ezechiel Joseph, Minister of Agriculture, Land, Fisheries and Forestry, St Lucia, Chairman of CARDI’s Board of Directors, Dr Richard Harrison, the Executive Director, Dr Arlington Chesney, Management and Staff wish to thank Dr Keith Archibald for his sterling contribution to CARDI and to the development of the agriculture sector of CARICOM.

We also take this opportunity to wish Dr Archibald and his family the very best for the future.

Guests at the farewell reception included the Chairman of CARDI’s Board of Governors, Minister Joseph and Mrs Joseph, the Executive Director, Dr Arlington Chesney and Mrs Chesney, FAO Representative for Trinidad and Tobago, Ms Florita Kentish, Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Agriculture, Land, and Marine Resources, Ms Phillipa Forde, President of the Caribbean Agribusiness Association, (CABA), Mr Harry Seeram, CARDI Representatives, technicians and other staff.

The social event for the former Chairman, Dr Keith Archibald was held during the Institute’s Planning Workshop held on November 13, at the Cascadia Hotel, Trinidad and Tobago.
