CARDI on Display

  • Post category:News

The Caribbean Agricultural Research and Development Institute (CARDI) introduced the Open Day to provide opportunities for the Institute to have face-to-face meetings, feedback and exchange of information with its stakeholders and partners across the Caribbean Region. This year, 2010, is the third year to feature the Open day, which began in 2008. It has been used to feature and demonstrate CARDI’s latest research in priority commodities such as Hot Pepper, Small Ruminants Sheep and Goats, as well as Roots and Tubers including Sweet Potato.

Farmers, Ministry of Agriculture personnel, students, researchers, extension agents as well as the general public have the opportunity to view poster displays, live demonstrations, taste products, obtain technical information as well as participate in tours. The European Union (EU) Technical Centre for Agricultural and Rural Cooperation (CTA) continues to provide support towards the hosting of the CARDI Open Days, through the provision of CTA and CTA/CARDI publications, as well as materials and supplies for displays.
