Terms of Use
Last updated: 4 August 2026
1. Acceptance of Terms
These Terms of Use govern access to and use of the website of the Caribbean Agricultural Research and Development Institute (CARDI), located at cardi.org (the “Site”). By accessing or using the Site, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Site.
2. About CARDI
CARDI is a regional agricultural research and development institute serving 14 CARICOM member states. The Site is maintained to share CARDI’s research, publications, project information, and resources with farmers, researchers, partner organisations, and the public.
3. Use of Content
CARDI grants you permission to view, download, and print materials from the Site for personal, educational, or non-commercial research use, provided that:
- You retain all copyright and attribution notices on any material you use
- You do not modify, sell, or redistribute the material for commercial purposes
- You do not present the material in a way that implies CARDI endorsement of your own products, services, or views
Publications, reports, and other content in the CARDI Digital Library may carry their own specific usage terms. Where stated, those terms take precedence over this general permission.
Any use beyond what is described above, including commercial use or bulk redistribution, requires prior written permission from CARDI. Requests can be sent to info@cardi.org.
4. Intellectual Property
Unless otherwise stated, the Site and its content, including text, research publications, graphics, logos, and design elements, are the property of CARDI or its licensors and are protected by copyright and other intellectual property laws. The CARDI name and logo may not be used without prior written consent.
5. Accuracy of Information
CARDI works to keep information on the Site current and accurate but makes no warranty, express or implied, as to the completeness or accuracy of any content. Research findings, project statuses, and statistics are updated periodically and may not reflect the most recent developments. Where figures or claims require verification, contact CARDI directly at info@cardi.org.
6. Third-Party Links and Services
The Site may link to third-party websites or use third-party services, including translation tools and social media integrations. CARDI does not control and is not responsible for the content, accuracy, or privacy practices of third-party sites. Use of any third-party service is subject to that provider’s own terms.
7. Limitation of Liability
CARDI, its officers, employees, and partner organisations are not liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, or consequential loss or damage arising from your use of, or inability to use, the Site or its content. This does not exclude liability for matters that cannot be excluded under applicable law.
8. Availability
CARDI aims to keep the Site accessible but does not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free access. The Site may be unavailable at times for maintenance or reasons beyond CARDI’s control.
9. Changes to These Terms
CARDI may update these Terms of Use from time to time. Continued use of the Site after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms. The “Last updated” date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision.
10. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of Trinidad and Tobago, without regard to conflict of law principles.
